Picnic in Space

We have been reading Whatever Next! In the story baby bear goes to the moon for a picnic. We decided we would also have a picnic on the Moon.

We watched the astronaut Chris Hadfield make a sandwich on the Space station so we knew what food we needed to use.

We used wraps instead of bread, sticky honey, freeze dried orange slices and Space ice cream. We also had our own Space water bottle, so the juice wouldn’t float away.
We carefully made our sandwich.
We packed our picnic in a special Space bag.
We buckled up in the Space shuttle.
5,4,3,2,1 lift off.
Acorns have landed.
We went for a Moon walk. It was tricky because it has less gravity.

We loved the picnic and made it back to school in time for home.
